Luxembourg, September 28, 2015 – INTRASOFT's International world leading Compliance & Enforcement Solution of, ESKORT, has been selected by the Swedish Customs (Tullverket) as a key part of the Authority's wider technology upgrade program, marking this project as the latest success for the ESKORT solution. Today the long list of ESKORT projects numbers more than 40 installations in 25 countries in 5 continents.

The ESKORT Compliance Solution is an integrated suite of systems providing support for all the main compliance processes within a Customs or Taxation Authority (as well as in Social Security and in the Banking and Financial sector). In the Customs domain, the ESKORT Compliance Cycle identifies 3 main phases of compliance and enforcement work (pre-clearance, clearance and post clearance). These can be supported in an integrated solution or separately, depending on customer need. Clearance risk analysis and the development of multi-dimensional risk profiles of so-called risk objects – traders, passengers, transporters etc- are two key features of ESKORT.

The Swedish Customs project has a 3-year duration followed by an 8-year -annually approved- extension for maintenance and support. The budget estimation by client for the entire period is 1.9 million EUR.The project scope includes the configuration of the ESKORT Clearance Risk Analysis System, the development of a results-processing module and a notification system (email, sms), the installation of the customized ESKORT Clearance Risk Analysis System on customer infrastructure, the initiation of the delivery inspection and the provision of user, operational and technical training, as well as support and maintenance services.

With this project, the Swedish Customs Authority introduces a Risk Analysis system, which will be integrated with the existing infrastructure and become an important part of a wider technology upgrade program to be finalized by 2020. By replacing the Authority's manual Risk Analysis procedures with a new automated Risk Analysis System for handling customs declarations and guiding inspection activities, it will promote efficiency and standardization, achieve system consolidation and ultimately adhere to EU legislation, which stipulates that custom inspections, with the exception of random inspections, are mainly based on selections that are carried out in an electronic flow. Furthermore, measures must be carried out for a relevant case at a relevant time by means of effective selection, and without manual handling, which requires a lot of resources.
