During Phase III of the EU-ETS, which covers the period 2013-2020, the auctioning of the Emission Allowances that the EU member - states possess is realised through the Common Auction Platform. In the Common Auction Platform 24 out of 27 EU countries participate, Greece included. To realise Emission Allowances auctions in the Common Auction Platform, member - states are obliged to assign the role of the Auctioneer to one institution which fulfils the prerequisites.

HELEX Group, during this phase, represents the Greek government as Auctioneer in the transitional Common Auction Platform.
